Key features
Reusable and moldable: Place the pellets in warm water (approx. 60 °C) to soften them into a smooth mass. Form them directly to the sole for a custom protection that perfectly matches your horse’s unique hoof shape. When the material cools, it hardens into a durable, shock-absorbing barrier that protects against the stresses of the substrate. Easily reuse without re-shaping the Sole Protect Pad, for maximum flexibility all year round. Reshaping takes place when there are changes in the hoof or at the next shoeing. Tip: When reforming, boil the sole for a few minutes – the compact mass takes longer to melt than original pellets.
Biodegradable and non-toxic: Made from environmentally friendly PCL without harmful components or microplastics. Safe for direct contact with sensitive hooves, promoting your horse’s health and contributing to a sustainable environment.
Mimics the hoof’s natural strength and flexibility: Horse hooves consist primarily of keratin, a protein-rich material that provides strength and flexibility. Based on scientific sources, the density of keratin typically varies between about 1.13 and 1.32 g/cm³, depending on structure and hydration level.
Shape patterns to provide extra grip and optimal protection, use as snow pads or add ice studs to avoid slipping in winter conditions – a reusable alternative to traditional soles, perfect for everyday riding, off-road or stable environments.
Supplied in practical pellet form for easy handling. Remove the sole using a hoofpick and gently work the edge around the entire sole until it comes off.
Application: Clean the hooves thoroughly with a hoofpick, preferably with a steel brush and pH-minus, and wipe off. Now the hoof is ready for Sole Protect.
Instructions: Heat the pellets in water, pick up with a spoon, shape against the hoof sole and next to the frog, and spray with cooling spray or wait in the stable until the material hardens. Important: the pad must NOT be thicker than the iron shoe or noticeably uneven which can lead to sole pressure. A thinner, smooth pad is easier to remove when desire, while a thicker (7-10 mm) sole is significantly more difficult to remove.
Contains: 4 dl (308g) Sole Protect, which is enough for two soles on a big-sized hoof (approx. 16 x 16 cm)
The product is not a medicine and does not replace veterinary care.
